The 2006 New York State 4th grade English Language Arts test had three sections: one multiple choice section (Book 1), and two sections testing children’s writing (Books 2 and 3).
Although some aspects of the multiple choice sections made us cringe, the writing sections are especially poorly designed:
Book 2 -- Listening & Writing (“Why the Rooster Crows at Dawn”)
Book 3 -- Reading & Writing (“The Stolen Moon” & “The Sun and the Moon”)
